I am new to Vitamin C products, should I ease my way into it?
Definitely. Vitamin C products can be sensitive for many people because of the acidic pH level. We recommend that you ease your way into using vitamin C products and first start by patch testing on your next for 24 hours before applying all of over your face. Using vitamin C products every two days or every other day before using it every day can help ease your skin to tolerate the product.
What's the difference between the Vitamin C, and the Vitamin C Ester serums?
Both products provide similar benefits, but the Vitamin C Ester Serum is more suitable for those with sensitive skin, plus an added benefit is that Vitamin C Ester is an oil and therefore, the product has a longer shelf life.
L-ascorbic acid is Vitamin C in its purest form. We use this in our REFINE | Clarifying Vitamin C Serum. It is water soluble and oxidizes quickly, which is why it has a shelf-life of 4 weeks, a shorter shelf life than the RADIANCE BOOST | Glowing Vitamin C Ester Serum. Even though it has a shorter shelf-life, it is extremely effective for those with acne-prone skin.
Vitamin C Ester is L-ascorbic acid combined with a fatty acid. We use this in our RADIANCE BOOST | Glowing Vitamin C Ester Serum. This formula is great for those who have sensitive skin because it is non-irritating and creates a balanced pH for the skin. We use the Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate form of Vitamin C Ester, which is very stable and oil-soluble which has a longer shelf life of 3 months than the REFINE | Clarifying Vitamin C Serum.
How do I apply the serums in my routine?
Serums should typically be applied immediately after cleansing before any other products.
Will using oil-based products make my skin more oily?
No, oils are wonderful for the skin because it can penetrate into the top layer of the skin and help strengthen its barrier function.
Are you sustainably conscious?
Yes, our packaging is made out of recycled and recyclable material. The rubber insert that holds the glass bottles however, are not recyclable - please throw those in the trash. We will be making that out of recycled material by 2022. Our refill packets are made of biodegradable material. Our goal is to get closer to 100% sustainable every year.
